Educate

What does this mean?

  • Learn and teach others about the Word and God's promises
  • Passionate, creative volunteers using meaningful instruction to teach God's Word

How do we do this?

  • Through the use of Milestones that God's people reach through their life
  • Through Education for all ages that meet them where they are in life
  • Through our Worship and Music as we connect our faith with community and world events

Five Principles of faith formation

  1. Faith is formed by the power of the Holy Spirit through personal, trusted relationships – often in our own homes.
  2. The church is a living partnership between the ministry of the congregation and ministry of the home.
  3. Where Christ is present in faith, the home is church, too!
  4. Faith is caught more than it is taught.
  5. If we want Christian children and youth, we need Christian adults who practice the faith with them

Luther Memorial's

MIlestone Ministry

Milestones come to all God's people at different points in their lives. We work to meet God's people at these moments to educate through Caring Conversations and celebrate them through meaningful rituals and traditions. We believe these milestones are important markers of our Faith Formation.

YOuth Ministry

Sunday School

Our Sunday School program

is based on a family focused

message for all ages to participate.  Our lessons include a hands on activities

to reinforce the message of

God’s Word.  We also have crafts and activities to spur the

spirit of faith and excitement

of learning about God.

We offer Vacation Bible School in the summer. We also partner with ministry partners to offer an after school program, beLoved.

Confirmation

This is our Middle School Ministry where our youth come to learn what it is to be a Lutheran Christian, how to understand the Bible, and how to serve God's people over a three year process. At the end of the three years, the youth confess their faith and Affirm their Baptism. We seek to involve middle school students in aspects of worship, service, and fellowship. Youth meet weekly over supper, learning, and worship.

Luther League

This is our Senior High Ministry and meets bi-monthly over good food and conversation.  The youth are not the church of tomorrow, they are the church of today and Luther League at Luther Memorial seeks to involve high school students in all aspects of congregational life. We learn from and with one another as we worship, discuss, and serve others.  For more information contact the church office or our adult leadership.
